“FENDI”. From a small fur and leather shop established in 1926 in Rome, Fendi went on to become one of the most important and leading brands in the fashion world. From Rome to Hollywood to the Chinese Wall, third generation member of Fendi family and Creative Director of Accessories and Menswear of the legendary fashion house Silvia Venturini Fendi and the Editor-in-Chief of A Magazine Curated By, Dan Thawley will explore the breathtaking story of a fashion house that changed the way women dress.

“WE CAN’T DO THIS ALONE”. In the last 25 years, Jefferson Hack has focused on ‘The magical operation” of bringing art to publishing and journalism. Hack will be discussing with filmmaker and IST. Festival co-founder Alphan Eşeli, how he has transcended the form and function of magazines in the curious pursuit of new cultural territories, through new encounters and with new visual horizons in an intimate conversation.

“WOMEN IN FILM”. A survey conducted in America with 700 popular feature films shows that only 21% of these movies had female leads and only 1,9% were directed by woman filmmakers.  Actresses Parker Posey and Serra Yılmaz will discuss the role and importance of women in cinema today.

“INSIDE OUT”. An intimate conversation with the acclaimed Dutch photographer, music video and film director, and graphic designer Anton Corbijn about his life and work.

“AESTHETICS AND ARCHITECTURE”. Throughout centuries cultural movements have influenced architectural aesthetics and shaped our view of the built environment. Moderated by esteemed journalist Şelale Kadak, celebrated architects David Adjaye and Murat Tabanlıoğlu will discuss the value of “Aesthetics” in architecture, which prompts us to look at the form, purpose and meaning of our built environment.

“MAGIC AND REALISM”. Latife Tekin, one of the most influential Turkish female authors, has brought together realism and magic with great success in her work. She will be joined on stage by author and literary agent Barbaros Altuğ for an intimate conversation about her work and career.

“HOW IT IS”.  Contemporary Polish Sculptor and video artist Miroslaw Balka will be in conversation with Anja Rubik about his work and career. Balka’s use of material in it’s worldliness refers to a great extent to the most basic human perceptions and the way they reside in memory through sensory elements. How his practice is influenced by his personal history will be discussed.

“AESTHETICS AND ART”. Conceptual artist Seza Paker, manifests a fundamental commitment to openness as an aesthetic approach in her practice in the expressive forms of installation, photography, film, sound, collage and drawing. She will discuss with curator, writer, art critic and sociologist Ali Akay the approach to and evaluation of aesthetics in her work.
