ISTANBUL’74 now initiates a series in collaboration with artists all around the world.
Memory is a notion that brings people together with places and each other. Objects help us represent and communicate the past, present and future. Keeping memories through objects does not necessarily stand for merely staying in the past, it helps us understand the present and share our future dreams and hopes…Postcards have been the most nostalgic way of maintaining this connection for centuries.
Each postcard carries the image of an existing artwork by the artist or a design specifically created for this project, at times even created by a few hand written words.
For the initial series, all profits from the sales will be donated to Maya Foundation's Project Lift, a charity aiming to rehabilitate traumatised children through therapeutic expressive art workshops to break the cycle of trauma and violence.'74Postcards will continue for an indefinite period of time with an open call to artists willing to be a part of this invaluable contribution to life through art.
